Good afternoon, Golf Parents! 

We are super excited that golf season is just around the corner. Here is everything you need to know: 

This year we hope to have 4 teams:

1. Middle school girls 
2. Middle school boys 
3. High school girls
4. High school boys.

 We are looking to fill 8 spots for each team and out of those 8, we will bring 5 to tournaments. For tryouts, we will be looking at scholar’s putting, chipping, and ball-striking skills. These skills will be based on a point scale. Tournament qualifications will be based on handy cap scores. 

Open practice will take place at 1^st Tee on 

• October 1^st from 5:30-7
• October 4^th from 3:15-5
• October 8^th from 5:30-7

For the first open practice, all scholars need a putter, wedge, and 3 golf balls. After the first day, please send your golfer with $5 to purchase a bucket of range balls for themselves. They should only need one bucket but if they would like to hit more, that is up to your discretion.

Tryouts will take place at 1^st Tee on October 22^nd from 5:30-7 and October 25^th from 3:15-5. The team will be announced on October 29^th via email. 

Most, if not all our practices will be off campus. We will communicate ahead of time via 

Sports You app where that practice will take place but plan for most range practices will be at 1st tee. Course practice will start at San Pedro. In second semester we will start practicing at an 18-hole course. 

The practice schedule this year is Tuesdays, Fridays, and every other Saturday. Tuesday is for both middle and high school and Friday and Saturday will alternate between middle and high school. On the weeks were there is no Saturday practice, Tuesdays and Fridays will be for both middle and high school teams. We will send out a reminder who is practicing when the week of. 

Since golf is a longer season (starting in October and ending in March), we will be following a normal 2-month season absent policy.  Which states in 2 months if there are 3 unexcused absences they are let go from the team. Other sports are EXCUSED and team sports take priority over golf. 

The golf fee this year is $325 for high school and $300 for middle school. This pays for Youth on Course, golf polos and hats/ visors, state tournament transportation, and stipends for our golf coaches. Payment is due by the first tournament.
